The Well Trained Mind, Online Book-Club

Have you ever wanted to join a book-club, but don’t feel like you have the time?  Well here’s one you can participate in at your computer, wearing your pajamas, while your toddler smashed Cheerios with his Tonka truck!  We are reading The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home (Third Edition)
by Susan Wise Bauer and Jessie Wise.

Although the WTM has a decidedly homeschooling bent, it is an excellent reference book for any parent who is interested in taking an active role in their child’s education.

I have been reading the WTM again for the second time and blogging about my thoughts chapter by chapter. I want to be conscientious about not violating any copyrights, so I will not be including quotes from the book on my blog. I will however, be referencing specific page numbers from the third edition. I invite you to read along with me, and chime in your own thoughts in the comment section below.

Can’t wait to read your posts. I just ordered the book on Amazon. My son is 2 and a half and I have been afterschooling him for a while now. I have been looking everywhere for direction and love your blog and hope this book helps too. Thanks!!

Thanks for your comment. I haven’t updated the book club in a while, but will get back to it this week. It is fun hearing what other parents have to say.

I discovered this book five years ago when my oldest two were kinders. I love the book and its straightforward approach to classical learning. I am an avid afterschooler or more like lifelong schooler. This book has served as the cornerstone for all four of my kids education.

Did you remove all your blogs on the book? None of the links work anymore.
