A STEM Summer, Week 3

For those of you following along, here are my Week 3 Plans for A STEM Summer.

Weekly Theme: Hot and Cold

Monday/ART: Warm and Friendly pp. 10-11 in I Can Paint! by Irene Luxbacher

Tuesday/SCIENCE: Make Ice Cream (Chemistry)

Wednesday/TECHNOLOGY: Visit Revelations Yogurt

Thursday/ENGINEERING: Oil Spill Experiment (Chemical Engineering)

Friday/MATH: Fun with the Math Balance (Jenna), Hands on Equations(Bruce)

Materials Needed:

Art: yellow, orange and brown pain, plus a cut up sponge

Science: a big coffee can, a little coffee can, ice, rock-salt and ice cream ingredients like heavy cream, sugar and vanilla

Engineering: cooking oil, cotton balls, cheese cloth and a polypropylene cloth like a hiking sock liner.
