Taking a break from blogging

my wrist

my wrist

sometimes the universe tells you

that you are too busy

or else that ice skating

is perhaps not worth the risk.

either way I’ve decided

to take a short break from blogging

and focus on more important things

like learning to put on socks.

I brake for moms”

now has new meaning.

I’ve got a stockpile of columns

to get me through Easter,

after that I’ll be pecking

things out quite slowly.

I’m done with capital letters

unless autocorrect helps me out.

Facebook is easier

you can follow me there

and share all your ideas

for afterschooling.

I am waiting

to be healed and inspired.

goodbye for now…

    Yikes. Take care of yourself!

  2. Bummer! Hope your wrist heals up quickly.

  3. […] this article about Michael and Debi Pearl’s book “To Train up a Child” before I broke my wrist. One handed typing really slows me down. […]

Read your column this morning. I had the same experie(complete with missing spouse)once, but the source of my demise was rollerblading. I had never before attempted to roller blade and have not since my wrist break in 2006. It is ironic that I fell at the entrance to my local library(Mukilteo) since I have worked there from the time of its opening. Start physical therapy as soon as you get out of the cast. It is painful but makes a huge difference in your future mobility. Good luck.

    • Thank you Jackie! I think rollerblading is now off my list too. I’ve started hand therapy already while in my cast because I couldn’t move my fingers. They are slowly getting better.
